This is another myth that is perpetuated by movies and TV shows. “Bounty hunters are actually a separate profession from bail bondsmen,” says Johnson. “Bounty hunters are hired to track down people who have skipped bail, while bail bondsmen are responsible for getting people out of jail in the first place.”
